Dr. Edward Roekaert Embrechts
Rector

Doctoral degree in Hospitality and Tourism Administration by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China. Master’s degree in Hospitality Administration and Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research by Cornell University, Ithaca, United States. Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), and Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. He has been the Rector of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. He was elected Accreditation Commissioner of the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA), in the United States. He is focused on improving education in Peru through accreditation systems which promote a self-study and continuous improvement culture, positioning UPC as a leading higher education institution in the country and one of the most renowned in the region.

 


Dr. José Pereyra López

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research

Doctor in Business Strategy by the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. PhD in Strategic Business Administration by Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Master’s degree in Philosophy by the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), and Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. He served as Deputy Director of the Naval School of Peru, and was Executive Director of the RACSO Nuclear Center.

Milagros Morgan Rozas

Vice-Rector for University Services

Doctor in Business Administration and Management by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Spain. Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, and Master’s degree in Business Administration by UPC. She has been the Director of Knowledge Management at UPC. She was responsible for the information services in the National Forest Information Network (Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation and Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Andean Commission of Jurists (CAJ). She was Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Altamira.

 

 

Dr. Gustavo Guerrero Vásquez

Vice-Rector for Planning and Development

Doctoral degree in Production Engineering by Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Master's degree in Production Engineering by Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), and Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Industrial Engineer by Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He has studies in Management at Harvard University and INCAE Business School. He has been the Director of the Operations, Logistics and Information Technology Department at UPC Graduate School and Dean of the UPC School of Engineering.

Carlos Bazán Leigh

General Secretary

Master's degree in Tourism Management and Marketing by Bournemouth University (England) and doctoral studies in Education at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL). He had worked as president, director and managing director in Australia Peru Chamber of Commerce Inc. (APCCI), Latin American director in Global Consultancy, and Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PromPerú) official, leading regional development projects.

 

Guillermo Quiroga

Director of Graduate School

Doctor in Business Administration and Management by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (Spain). Master's degree in Business Administration by Universidad de Piura. International Faculty Development Program at IESE, Spain. Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), and Master's degree in Senior Management and Leadership by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. He has been the Academic Director of the Graduate School's Administration Department at UPC. He has implemented different project for the brewing, microfinance, airport services, hospitality, Pension Fund Administrator (AFP), construction, and services industries.

 


Carlos Adrianzen Cabrera

Dean of the School of Economics

Doctor in Business Administration by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (Spain). Master’s degree in Economics by Boston University (United States) and Master’s degree in Administration (MBA) by Université du Québec (Canada). He has pursued graduate studies in Macroeconomic Policies Management and Business Management at Harvard and Pittsburgh Universities; he is also Senior Fellow of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (United States).

 

Giannina Robinson Díaz

General Director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Administration

Renowned professional with over 20 years of managerial experience in hospitality and academic industry companies. Master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Florida International University; she did studies at the Executive Master of Business Administration program of the Graduate School at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. Certified Hospitality Educator by the American Hotel and Lodging Association 2011.

Jack Zilberman Fleischman

General Director of the School of Business

Industrial Engineer by the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa-Israel, he has an MBA by ESAN, a Master’s degree in Higher Education by Universidad Europea de Madrid, and a Master’s degree in Senior Management and Leadership by UPC in agreement with Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Currently he is pursuing a doctoral degree in Eseade.

Professionally, he has been a partner and founder of CouldWare360, Inversiones AVZ, and Fundo San Jacinto. In addition, he has been the Commercial Director of Telefónica and Commercial Manager of GMD. This year he was appointed Vice-Minister of Institutional Management of the Ministry of Education - Minedu.

 

Janina María de las Casas Diez Canseco

Dean of the School of Design

MBA by the Adolfo Ibañez School of Management-INCAE Professional graphic designer by Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). She has pursued specialization courses in Interior Design and Jewelry at the Studio Arts College International (SACI, Italy), in Branding and Marketing at Kellogg School of Management, and in Graphic Design in the Yale University program in Switzerland. She has directed the Marketing, Product Design and Global Trends departments in Belcorp.

 

Jorge Cabrera Berríos

Dean of the School of Engineering

Graduate from the Master’s degree in Systems Engineering with mention in Information Technology Management by Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) and from the MBA at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). Industrial Engineer by Universidad de Lima. He has vast experience in information technology and business management in maritime, health, software and education companies.

 

Diego Vega Castro-Sayán

General Secretary and Director of the Legal and Compliance Area

Lawyer by Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, with a Doctoral degree in Business Administration and Management by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (Spain). He is currently studying an MBA at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). With specialization studies at University of Toronto, Canada. He was an Advisor and Senior Executive (2005-2007) in the Peruvian Office of the President. Currently, he is the Legal and Compliance Director, and the General Secretary at UPC. He is also a faculty member at the School of Law of this institution, Vice-President of the Consumer Protection Commission No. 1 of Indecopi, and Arbitrator of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima.

Luis Alfonso García-Corrochano

Dean of the School of Law

Master’s degree in International Law by Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and doctoral degree candidate by the same university. MBA by Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola and lawyer by Universidad de Lima. He has worked as the Vice-Minister of Justice, Legal Advisor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been a member of the Advisory Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is currently an Alternate Member of the Superior Court of Administrative Responsibilities for the Office of the National Comptroller General and Arbitrator of the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce.

 

Miguel Cruchaga Belaunde

Dean of the School of Architecture

Graduate studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Professional architect by Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI). He has been President of the Citizen Institute and of the Peruvian Academy of Architecture and Urbanism, as well as Senator of the Republic. Winner of the National Culture Award (1972).

 

Dr. Pascual Chiarella

Dean of the School of Health Sciences

M.D. and Master’s degree by Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH). Pediatric pulmonologist, pediatrician and surgeon by the same institution. He has worked as the Director of Grupo Pediátrico S.A. and as a Full Professor and Director of International Relations at UPCH. He is currently a Fellow Associate of the National Medicine Association and member of the Peruvian Society of Pediatricians, of the Peruvian Society of Pulmonology and of the Latin American Thorax Association.

 

Urs Schaerer

Dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Administration

Graduate from the School of Hospitality of Lausanne (Switzerland). He has been General Manager in world renowned five-star hotels, such as El Pardo DoubleTree by Hilton and Crillon Hotel, in Lima; or the Miramare Beach Hotel, in Rodhes, and the Corfu Palace Hotel (both in Greece).

 

Dra. Úrsula Freundt-Thurne Freundt

Dean of the School of Communications

Doctor in Business Administration and Management by Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Spain. She has a specialization in the Business Communications Master program (MBC) at St. Thomas University in Minnesota (United States). Licentiate in Communication Sciences by Universidad de Lima. Academic member of the Latin American Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism (CLAEP, in Spanish).
