
This department guarantees that students will be taught under an educational method based on abilities emphasized by UPC. The department looks out for the students’ welfare inside and outside the classroom.
This department is organized as follows:
TRAINING AREA:Organizes courses and workshops in order to train faculty in agreement with UPC’s pedagogical principles.
Through support and active strategies, this department supervises the faculty’s use of active and interactive learning strategies, based on a system that evaluates student achievements according to the course objectives and goals.
ORIENTATION AREA: Supports value-based training, study habits, helps student s adapt to university life.
This area provides:

Guidance and advisories: Developed by specialized UPC personnel.

Tutorials: Developed by faculty who supervise academic development.

Counseling services: Developed by psychologists who support students in the process of understanding and solving personal problems.
FOLLOW-UP AREA: The educational method and the quality and efficiency of UPC’s academic services are continuously evaluated through surveys, reports, classroom observation, meetings with faculty and interviews with student delegates and pupils.
UNIVERSITY LIFE AREA: Promotes the creation of a healthful institutional climate, as well as personal and professional enrichment.

Promotes the exchange of information, through publications or debates or meetings with faculty and program’s directors.

Organizes workshops, clubs or personal development programs, in order to promote in the student different skills and resources complementary to academic development.

Offers alternative services to the students, such as artistic activities and sports electives, or social voluntary work. These activities allow students to achieve extra academic grades in order to graduate.

Facilitates exchange activities with other universities and the community.

Coordinates internal events like the university week, cultural Thursdays, exhibitions, sport championships, and others.
