About the program
Telecommunications and Networking Engineering
Professionals with domain in telecommunications technology in a global environment
Communication and the possibility of diverse information exchange such as technological, financial, educational, news, entertainment, and others, is probably the main issue of the development and progress of society and it is directly linked to the technological development level. Therefore, we can affirm that a society is more or less developed according to its communication system.
Informatics and telecommunications have developed immensely in the last years, allowing great advance regarding services in communication with much diversity, quality and coverage for the users.
At the beginning, telecommunications engineering was developed as an extension of electrical engineering, but due to the important technical advances and a major complexity in processes, as well as the elements that are actually involved in telecommunication systems, a specialty in this field of engineering was necessary. A specialty that comprises wireless communication, satellite systems, optical fiber, telephone and mobile networks, microwave systems, Internet, wide-band networks as well as management and administration of these infrastructures.
A telecommunications engineer is able to plan, design, understand and implement telecommunication systems according to the needs and interests of companies and users that require communication. In order to integrate communities, they will also develop and constantly improve communication systems; being an important part of national development and shortening the digital gap to improve life level.
