He has been the Rector of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. He was elected Accreditation Commissioner of the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA), in the United States. He is focused on improving education in Peru through accreditation systems which promote a self-study and continuous improvement culture, positioning UPC as a leading higher education institution in the country and one of the most renowned in the region.

He was a member of the Board of the Universidad Andrés Bello from 2016 to 2018 (Chile). We has worked in association with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and as Senior Associate to Frank O. Gehry & Associates. He was the president of the Academia Peruana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo (2005-2007). In 1972, he received the National Culture Award for his work in architecture.
