Types of Admission at UPC

We offer you several admission options so that you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

Here you can find what your options are, as well as their requirements and benefits.

GENERAL ADMISSION

This method is aimed at students in the last year of high school or that already graduated from it.

Step 1: Apply

In order to apply, you must submit the proof of payment of admission fees and the consent form through our admission counters or online. This form will include your data and key conditions to start the process.

Step 2: Assess your potential

You will receive your comprehensive evaluation date, a mandatory test to define if you may start studying your program-specific courses or if you need to strengthen some particular area before.

Did you pass the comprehensive evaluation?

If you passed, bear in mind that according to the result obtained, you may have the possibility of being exempted from taking the remedial courses corresponding to your program.

Please note that the exemption does not apply to the Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, Dentistry and Physical Therapy programs.

What to do in case you did not pass the Comprehensive Evaluation?

If you failed, the admission process gives you the possibility to retake the Comprehensive Evaluation, but you can take it a maximum of two times.

Please note that if you are applying to the Architecture, Professional Translation and Interpreting, Music, Performing Arts or Medicine programs, you will have to take the exam for said program, and only in the case of Biology, a personal interview will also be required.

Step 3: Check your results

Check your admission results on the web page upc.pe/resultadosadmision the Monday following your application.

Step 4: Join UPC

Once you pass your evaluation, you must incorporate effectively. In order to do this, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Simple copy of your National Identification Document (DNI)
  • Certificate of Learning Achievement (CLA – Ministry of Education)*, Official Student Transcript (Ministry of Education)** or High School Transcript in original or legalized copy (yellow format).
  • Copy of the first receipt paid
  • Photo on white background (passport size)

ADMISSION - PREFERRED SELECTION (*)

To qualify for this type of admission you must have earned a maximum of 15 Bs and no Cs in either 3rd or 4th grade of high school. If you have any doubts about your case, you can consult our admissions counselors.

Benefits for you:

  • Direct admission (no admission exam).
  • Exemption from the payment of admission fees.
  • Exemption from taking remedial courses.
  • You will obtain an Honors Scholarship of 25% applied to the total tuition fees for your first term (except for the Medicine program). This condition may be renewed each term, depending on the requirements applied to your program and on your academic results.

Please note that if you are applying to the Architecture, Professional Translation and Interpreting, Music or Performing Arts programs, you will have to take the exam for said program, and only in the case of Biology, a personal interview will also be required.

  • Copy of the first receipt paid

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (*)

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE WITH DIPLOMA

If you have obtained or are pursuing the program to obtain the diploma for the International Baccalaureate or equivalents, this is admission type applicable to you.

Benefits:

  • Direct admission to UPC
  • You do not need to pay the admission fee.
  • You will obtain an Honors Scholarship of 25% applied to the tuition fees for your first term (except for the Medicine program). This condition may be renewed each term, depending on the requirements applied to your program and on your academic results.
  • You do not need to take the Comprehensive Evaluation. Step 3: Join UPC

Finally, you must submit the documents required for your incorporation:

  • Simple copy of your National Identification Document (DNI).
  • Certificate of Learning Achievement (CLA – Ministry of Education)*, Official Student Transcript (Ministry of Education)** or High School Transcript in original or legalized copy (yellow format).
  • Baccalaureate Diploma or certificate of completion of the Baccalaureate Program.
  • Copy of the first receipt paid
  • Photo on white background (passport size).

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE WITHOUT DIPLOMA

If you have pursued or continue in the program without the requirement of obtaining the diploma for the International Baccalaureate or equivalents, this is your admission method.

Benefits:

  • You do not need to pay the admission fee.
  • Admission based on the Comprehensive Evaluation.

Course Validation:

  • You must submit the transcript of the program.
  • Course validation is carried out in accordance with the current tables for this admission method.
  • You must take the comprehensive evaluation. According to the score obtained, you may validate the remedial courses corresponding to your program.

EXTERNAL TRANSFER (*)

For students who want to apply to UPC and that began their studies at other universities.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 72 credits earned at the university you are transferring from.
  • Registration Form
  • Site Selection Form
  • Payment of admission fees
  • Higher education transcript (courses, grades and credits)*
  • Certificate of no exclusion for discipline*

*If the applicant comes from a foreign basic or higher education institution, the documentation must be officially translated into Spanish, endorsed by the Peruvian Consulate in that country and the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this case, the studies completed must be supported by the original Student Transcripts or their legalized copies, issued by the educational institution of origin.

Benefits:

You will be exempted from taking the Comprehensive Evaluation. Please note that if you are applying to the Architecture or Professional Translation and Interpreting programs, you will have to take the exams for said programs, and only in the case of Biology, a personal interview will also be required.

Course Validation:

  • You must present the syllabi or certified programs corresponding to the period in which you passed them, as well as the corresponding transcripts.
  • You may have to take tests to determine your knowledge level.
  • You will only be able to validate courses from your institution of origin during the admission process.

Incorporation documents:

  • Simple copy of your National Identification Document (DNI)
  • Certificate of Learning Achievement (CLA – Ministry of Education)*, Official Student Transcript (Ministry of Education)** or High School Transcript in original or legalized copy (yellow format).

* Extraordinary Method (*)

ACADEMIC DEGREE AND PROFESSIONAL TITLE EXEMPTION

This type of admission is aimed at those who have already completed a technical or university-level profession.

To apply, you must only follow these four steps:

Requirements:

*If the applicant comes from a foreign basic or higher education institution, the documentation must be officially translated into Spanish, endorsed by the Peruvian Consulate in that country and the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this case, the studies completed must be supported by a bachelor's degree or professional title with the corresponding apostille.

Step 2: Assess your potential

You will be evaluated through a personal interview. Please note that if you are applying to the Architecture, Professional Translation and Interpreting, Music or Performing Arts programs, you will have to take the exam for said program, and only in the case of Biology, a personal interview will also be required.
